Synopsis
Spikiney is a hardworking and altruistic hedgehog who runs a soup kitchen for the needy community. The food disappears one winter night, endangering their existence. Spikiney’s friends – the old monkey with a cane, the orphan squirrel, a strayed bird and the beaver with a rubber flipper for a tail bravely join him on the quest to find the stolen food. They suspect a monster is the thief. The trail takes them to the ominous cave, where they need to bravely confront the monster…
Biography
Tihoni Brcic was born in Croatia in 1971. He earned doctoral degree in graphic arts from Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb, Croatia in 2016, and M.F.A. degree from Academy of Art College in San Francisco, USA in 1998. He works on documentaries, animated shorts, motion pictures, exhibition videos and television shows as a title designer, art director, director and editor. His works were awarded and exhibited in the country and abroad.
He directed and designed documentaries (“Two Pink Lines”, 2016), animated short (“Hedgehog Spikiney”, 2020) and exhibition videos (Zagreb City Museum: “Stepping into the New Century – Urban Development of the University Square”), was art director of animated shorts (“Zulejka: The Legend of Ogulin”, 2013), and title seqence designer for several motion pictures (“Sleep Sweet, my Darling”, 2005), animated shorts (“Up in the Gallery”, 2009) and many TV shows for Croatian National Television (“Photography in Croatia”, 2000).
He’s an expert in the field of visual communications and teaches about multimedia, virtual reality and video design at the Academy of Dramatic Art in Zagreb, Croatia since 2003. He published several research articles in Arts and Humanities journals. He also works as a journalist and interior designer and promotes holistic parenting through the association Happiest Baby Croatia.
