HOUSE OF CROATIAN FILM
The building, located at Nova ves 12, is owned by Zagreb Film and is a part of the mutual cultural project of Zagreb Film and the City of Zagreb. The idea of the House of Croatian Film is based on the need to unite the relevant institutions, establishments, and festivals that do not have independent sources of funding and engage in pre-production, production, post-production, presentation of films, or shaping cultural policies. Today, Zagreb Film and the Croatian Audiovisual Centre are the only film institutions in the Republic of Croatia and therefore are obliged to take care of the citizens’ public needs in connection to audiovisual culture. In the House of Croatian Film, Zagreb Film unites domestic film production and raises the production level of these films while saving public funds intended for their production, and helping the development of the film industry. The House of Croatian Film has served as a work space for the Croatian Audiovisual Centre, the Academy of Fine Arts (Animation Department; the Academy of Dramatic Arts (ADA) produces all graduation films in co-production with Zagreb Film), Animafest, ZagrebDox and Factum (the production company Factum produces all documentaries in co-production with Zagreb Film), Motovun Film Festival, the Croatian Film Directors’ Guild, the Croatian Producers Association, the Croatian Society of Film Critics, FADE IN, Recording studio Fučkar-Premar, Ars Septima Film d.o.o., Menorah Film, 25 FPS, and the Creative Syndicate (Kreativni sindikat).
